Teresa's photography approach and philosophy:
Life is about moments. Some are tender, others magical and many can be described only as "real". My documentary approach to photography strives to capture a stunning array of the moments that fill your life.
Each person defines what moments make their family unique; whether it is capturing your child as they haphazardly devour an ice cream cone or holding on the endearing disappointment in their eyes as you leave the park, these moments remain timeless through photography. It seems without photography these images tend to be lost over time.
I began taking photographs in college and became fascinated with the storytelling element of photography. The old saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words" could not ring truer in my approach. My sessions go best when I'm able to sit down with the family and define what makes each member unique.
