About Our House Stories...
In 2010 we bought our house, a yellow and white Victorian side hall in the St. Roch neighborhood. We are almost done with the restoration process…but not quite (as most renovations go)! As our restoration continued, we uncovered artifacts from previous owners – bottles, newspapers, ceramics – which piqued our archival interests. Thus, we began unlocking the story of our house.
By researching old plat maps, we found structures long gone which explained the old foundations in our backyard. We also discovered an explanation for the irregular shape of our lot. Unlocking the story of our house was so exciting we decided to offer this adventure to others. Our House Stories was born!
