Description

The 7th Graders are studying the printing press this year as part of their Renaissance studies. They have used one of the simplest forms of printmaking, the monotype, to create a uniquely striking image. First used in the 17th Century by Rembrandt, and used by many artists since including Degas, Picasso, Diebenkorn, and Motherwell, energy, improvisation, gesture, impulse and chance are all characteristics of this printing process. It is the most "painterly" and immediately rewarding technique available for creating works on paper.

This is a Live Event Item.
