Description
A decorative/souvenir 5 and 1/4 inch-high mug/stein all the way from Moscow, Russia, courtesy of Artur and Sarah (Goodloe) Rakhmankulov.
It depicts the Cathedral of St. Basil in Red Square next to the Kremlin. The inscription on the back roughly translates to
Pokrovsky Cathedral On the red square Better known as St. Basil's Cathedral Built by Ivan the Terrible In 1555-1561 In honor of the victory of Russian troops Over Kazan Khanate It was built on the master Barma and fasting (I believe these last 2 lines are meaning to say it was built by the master architects, Barma and Postnik. Should you purchase this item you will get the most correct and accurate translation from Sarah/Artur. Google translate is a limited translation.) |
