Description
This one-of-a-kind charcoal drawing by renowned filmmaker and artist, David Lynch, could be yours! Created especially for the LLEF Auction, "Seven Stars" is an original, framed, 8"x8" treasure that is signed and dated by the artist. David Lynch is the celebrated, award-winning American filmmaker, television director, musician and visual artist best known for his surrealist films, which include the critically acclaimed Blue Velvet (1986), The Elephant Man (1980), Wild at Heart (1990), The Straight Story (1999), Mulholland Drive (2001), and Inland Empire (2006). He also created the highly popular television mystery series, Twin Peaks (1990-1991). While better known as a filmmaker, Lynch first trained as a painter and has also produced a prolific body of artwork. Lynch states that "all my paintings are organic, violent comedies." His art is typically very dark in color, and Lynch explains that "I wouldn't know what to do with color. Color to me is too real. It's limiting. It doesn't allow too much of a dream. The more you throw black into a color, the more dreamy it gets... Black has depth. It's like a little egress; you can go into it... And you start seeing what you're afraid of. You start seeing what you love, and it becomes like a dream." With this original David Lynch painting, the dream can be yours!
