Deep garnet, warm red rim, slight bricking. Multi-layered nose, almost fully mature, with tertiary aromas of tree bark, leather, horse stable, herbs, rose petals and undergrowth. Developed fruit aromas like currants and plums, with oaky assistance of coffee, lead pencil and cedarwood. Taste is medium-bodied with fresh acidity, quite prominent tannins and generous, complex flavours. Smooth and slightly viscous mouthfeel, and quite a long finish with lingering tannins. Drinking nicely now, but could probably go for another 3-5 years.
