Description

Rated 93 points by Wine Enthusiast. Each year, Sea Smoke Cellars' goal for Southing is to create the ideal marriage of complexity and elegance. The seductive nose of the 2010 Southing exhibits fresh crushed flowers, persimmon, morels and cola. The fine tannins and minerality are enhanced by the estate vineyard's characteristic cool climate acidity. Big, deep and hard in tannins, this wine shows the estate's power and concentration, bearing blasts of cherries, currants, persimmons and cola. The flavors are pinpointed with laserlike focus, with hints of cocoa powder and tamari. It should begin to open by 2017, and develop for many years afterward.
