2011 Cline "Ancient Vines" Contra Costa County Mourvèdre

The 2011 Ancient Vine Mourvedre from Contra Costa, an area well-known for this varietal, is decent. It is obviously meant to be a lightweight Mourvedre and spends some time in American oak, but is straightforward and spicy with adequate fruit.  Value $13.99

2008 Côtes de Castillon Chateau de Foutenay

A ripe, smoky wine, full of sweet black currant fruits and stalky tannins. The wine is juicy, fruity, cut with acidity and with a dry core of tight tannins. It shows the beginnings of maturity. Value $13.99
