YA roster artist Max Bent started beatboxing at the age of eight, when he began imitating what he heard on the radio. His skills developed independently until, to his surprise, he discovered that beatboxing was already an international vocal art form with roots in Hip Hop culture. Since then, Max’s love for the beat has taken him on many exciting journeys, including performing with musicians and beatboxers across the country and creating tutorials for his website, Beatbox.Tv. Working on projects such as the Verizon FIOS Beatbox Mixer has given Max an understanding of the science behind beatboxing, and his experience as a science teacher in Maryland has helped him make a smooth transition into his work as a teaching artist.
