Description

The portrait from which this print is made was inspired by a photograph which O.B. Keeler, in his biography of Bobby Jones, "Down the Fairway"  describes thusly:  "Perhaps the best golf picture of Bobby Jones ever made; it might be called the 'Concentration of Championship.'  It is Bobby's last look at the pin before he shoots. The club is settled back of the ball.  He is thinking of nothing in the world but that shot."  All details, such as skin tones, grip, and clothing were painted from life.  The portrait was exhibited in the Grand Central Gallery in New York, and hung for years in John Jarrell, Inc., an Atlanta firm.  It is unique in that it was painted at the height of his competitive career.  Frame approximately 18" wide X 21" long.
