Pair of Sato Hakata Dolls with tray. On the bottom are two labels "Sato Hakata Doll Company, Hakata, Japan",and "Made in Japan, S. Washable Patent". These traditional Japanese clay dolls, originate from the city of Fukuoka, part of which was previously named Hakata before the city merger in 1889. Many of these figures are depicted performing everyday activities like making tea, cutting fruit or storytelling. Size: approx. 7” H.  Good condition, hand loose on one figure.  Because of their delicate nature, this item must be picked up.
