Crystal Morey, living and working in Oakland, was recently featured in Bedford Gallerys exhibition Outlandish: Contemporary Depictions of Nature. Working primarily with ceramics, Morey has exhibited widely at galleries around the Bay Area and nationally. Known for her interest in endangered and extinct animals, Moreys work is committed to exploring how human advancements in technology, agriculture, and urbanization have exerted external pressures on natural ecosystems. Through her sculptures, Morey attempts to humanize such ideas and present them in accessible and engaging ways. On Broadway presents Moreys artwork The Bubal Hartebeest, from a series of sculptures that address our symbiotic human/animal relationships.
