Raised in Antioch, California, LaFarga has traveled from the wall and the freight, to a BFA from California College of the Arts. This diverse background has produced for the artist a unique aesthetic, and provides him with the capacity to move between several visual languages. LaFarga aims his focus at the intersection of painting, typography, and photo realism, melding all three to create a reflection of contemporary life. With a powerful sense of color, a direct sense of humor, and a strong sense of composition, he creates work that is honest, engaging and political. LaFarga currently lives in Concord with his wife and their baby girl.This On Broadway item includes a framed LaFarga drawing on paper, and one of his limited edition tote bags produced exclusively for the Bedford Gallery.
