The Pines Catholic Camp was established in 1988. The Pines serves several thousand campers year round for a variety of programs. The campsite is located in the town of Big Sandy, just two hours east of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The Pines Summer Camp 2011 program had more than 1,500 campers in attendance.

At The Pines, we take our identity as being a Catholic camp sincerely. We believe that through the experience of grace through the Sacraments, small Christian communities and the majesty of God’s creation at the Pines, young people will grow in their relationship with Jesus. At camp, our goal is to give youth the confidence and the strength they need to continue their faith journey and to help them foster healthy vocations. At the Pines, they are excited to share the teachings of the Catholic Church with all who come and experience The Pines in a refreshing and welcoming way in the beautiful outdoors!

Take a look at the room around you, what do you see?  A cup, a chair, a clock?  Did you ever realize that we can only see the things around us because they are being illuminated by the light? And there is no greater source of light in the universe than the sun.  Except for the Son, that is.  If we want to be  the lights in the world, then we want others to see Jesus in us.  The Lord is giving us all we need to reflect his radiance all around us – it’s not a time to contain it!

This summer at The Pines, in the midst of all the fun of camp, we’re going to Shine Like The Son, for all to see!  What an experience it’s gonna be Summer 2013, one like no other!!
