Description
This ain't your grandma's Merlot...the Tulocay Sierra Oaks Vineyard El Dorado County Merlot has a brilliant ruby red hue, tobacco, cherry, sage and oak aromas. Since 1981 Tulocay has offered one Cabernet Sauvignon from a single source, the Cliff Vineyard. It's located a few miles north of the winery in the hills at the end of the Old Soda Springs Road. This puts the vineyard somewhere between the Atlas Peak and Stags Leap viticultural districts. What makes the Sierra Oaks Vineyard special is that it's located in the Sierra Nevadas at about 2500 feet. With the exceptionally cool nights and warm (but not too hot) days, this means high sugars and high acids — a perfect combination.
At Becker Vineyards in Stonewall, Texas, cabernet sauvignon is their number one selling wine. The cabernet has black cherry notes,
raspberries and is a popular, easy drinking wine. Food complements:
rib-eye and quail.
A rich color and deep hue introduces your nose to a ripe and rich flavor of the [Yellow Tail] Merlot, from Australia. Mint and leaf at the front of the nose is followed by soft plums and ripe almost Christmas cake fruit. The vanilla softness on the nose takes you into a ripe and full palate weight with a soft, sweet oak palate length on the finish.
You are bidding on a Wine Offering containing a Rustic Metal Peace Sign Decorative Bottle Topper, 2001 Sierra Oaks Vineyard El Dorado County Merlot, 2004 Becker Vineyards Iconoclast Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1.5 Liter Bottle of 2009 [Yellow Tail] Merlot.
