Description
2006 Neal Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Starting with a ripe, bold mouth-feel, there is a complexity to this vintage that we love. Ripe fruit, cherry candy and floral characters linger as layers of fruit continue to reveal themselves. There is an earthy, mature tannin texture from the Rutherford Dust and mountain vineyards that contribute to create a bitter-sweet cocoa powder taste and feel. Also lingering in the background is a baked or caramelized sugar note that adds to the long finish.
2006 Beaucanon Cabernet Franc Napa Valley
For such a feminine grape, the aromas are dark and rich; black and blueberry fruit, cocoa, smoky tea and toasty oak. A little time in a decanter or in your glass and youll see more delicate notes of red cherry, lavender and mineral earth emerge to add depth and interest. On the palate, the fruit takes over, a riot of red and black berries and stone fruit dominating with savory oak and the darker elements of earth and cocoa flavors showing around the edges. Tannins are gripping but smooth, like a well-aged Cabernet Sauvignon, and the trademark acidity of Cab Franc is also smoothed down to just a tang.
2008 Hendry Cabernet Sauvignon Hendry Vineyard
91 Points Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Hendry Cabernet Sauvignon is another rich, extroverted wine. Black plums, blackberries, tar and smoke are some of the notes that flow from this bold, deeply flavored Cabernet Sauvignon. Grilled herbs and licorice develop in the glass, adding further complexity. I especially like the plushness and depth of the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020."
2010 Hess Cabernet Sauvignon North Coast
A soft entry, with ripe plum and raspberry in the forefront, is supported by background flavors of tobacco and caramel, which add complexity to this imminently drinkable wine.
