On Friday, May 10, join a very special morning tour with the Garden Conservancy of the restored gardens of Alcatraz Island. These historic gardens were planted by the officers, families, and prisoners who were confined to the island. We will tour this unique part of Alcatraz Island with a guide who will give us special access to the restored gardens. These 'escaped' gardens have been brought back to life by volunteers and help from the Garden Conservancy in partnership with the National Park Service. We will enjoy a lunch at Butterfly restaurant after we return to the ferry terminal.
