Description

This is the woodcut created by Paula J. Goodman for the iconic cover of Lilith's sixth issue in 1979. It illustrated Cynthia Ozick's groundbreaking article--probably the longest one Lilith ever ran--exploring the real nature of the "woman" question in Judaism. Ozick herself described the art as "Daumier-like." Includes a copy of the out-of-print Lilith issue.

Paula Goodman Koz has been a printmaker specializing in block prints (wood and linocut) for nearly 30 years. She has a special love for illustrating books and literary themes. The relationship between art and print is her primary focus.
