Description

You will receive three five-ounce bottles of handcrafted vinegar made from red wine vinegar, white wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar or malt vinegar, with a wide range of herb combinations like garlic, mustard seed, cinnamon stick, peppercorns, hot peppers, etc.

Rabbi Aaron Rubinstein of Macon, Georgia,  the creator of this food line, makes these vinegars to support an Israeli charity. "Nearly 20 years ago I met Hava Levene, one of the guiding lights of Neve Michael, a safe haven for Israeli children at risk. She had come to Macon, Georgia seeking increased financial assistance from the Jewish community. Her work inspired me to think creatively about ways to raise money for this most important work.

"I had a bit of a Paul Newman fantasy—you're familiar with several foods (chocolate, pasta sauce, salad dressing, to name a few) that bear labels with his picture. The proceeds support some wonderful charitable work. And so I thought: maybe I'll craft artisanal herbal vinegars and raise some money for Neve Michael. While my project will never rival Paul Newman's enterprise, over the years, I've raised a few thousand dollars...and the vinegars are really very good! In my spare time, this little mitzvah project keeps me connected with Neve Michael's sacred mission."

About Neve Michael: A safe haven for Israeli children at risk (ages 3-18) whose biological parents can no longer care for them, Neve Michael provides sustenance, education, and a warm caring environment. Located in Pardes Hanna, Israel, Neve Michael serves children from all over the country. Many of these children were brought to Neve Michael's doorstep at a tender age, under traumatic circumstances. In many cases their natural parents live in poverty. Some parents struggle with mental illness, others wrestle with addictions.
