Now, almost a century after her last apearances in the United States, audiences can experience again the wonder of Madame Sarah. This two-hour show opens with Bernhardt welcoming the audience to her drawing room, a warm and cozy setting for the audience to become rapt in intimate self-disclosures via story and song about the actress’s legendary life.
Playwright, composer, lyricist Carol Dunitz created and performs this highly praised one-woman show. She is the author of nine books in addition to "Bernhardt on Broadway."
Sarah Bernhardt worked with Emile Zola to get justice for Alfred Dreyfus, raised money for Madame Marie Curie to build a new laboratory, ran a hospital during the Franco-Prussian War, and lays claim to being the worlds' first superstar, preceding Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, and Lady Gaga.
