Description

The Good Housekeeping Research Institute (GHRI), founded in 1900, is America’s first and foremost consumer product testing facility. It is situated on the 29th floor in the Hearst Tower, the first green office building in New York City, and is staffed by a team of engineers, chemists, textile professionals, culinary experts, and other scientists. At GHRI  thousands of products are evaluated every year to select top picks for Good Housekeeping magazine and to offer comprehensive product reviews on goodhousekeeping.com. In addition to reviewing a broad range of products—from microwaves to mascaras and coffeemakers to swimwear—for editorial mention, GHRI also evaluates products for the iconic Good Housekeeping Seal (launched in 1909) and its new environmental emblem, the Green Good Housekeeping Seal.

Your guided tour of the legendary Good Housekeeping Research Institute, led by Miriam Arond, director of the GHRI, can accomodate up to 20 people, and will include a visit to its six labs—Health, Beauty and Environmental Sciences, Textile, Paper, and Plastics, Nutrition, Kitchen Appliances Technology, Home Appliances and Cleaning Products, and Consumer Electronics and Engineering, as well as its famous Test Kitchens.
