Mat Thomas Holliday (born January 15, 1980) is an American Major League Baseball left fielder for the St. Louis Cardinals. Holliday was originally drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the seventh round of the 1998 Major League Baseball Draft.

Holliday is a six-time All-Star and a four-time Silver Slugger winner. He was the runner-up in the National League MVP voting for the 2007 Major League Baseball season. He won the 2007 National League Championship Series MVP as he helped guide the Rockies to their first-ever National League pennant and World Series appearance.

On July 20, 2012, Holliday hit the longest home run ever recorded at the current Busch Stadium. The ball traveled 469 feet, flying past the 'Big Mac Land' sign into the second deck in left field. It was the fifth-longest in the majors this year.

He got his 1,500th career hit on August 30, 2012.

Holliday has a carear hitting average of .311 and even hit .300 and drove in 94 runs during the regular season of 2013. On 10/07/2013 he hit a homerun and drove in the only two runs in a win at Pittsburg to keep the Cardinals alive in the post season.
