Description
Jane McFadden Dorsey was born in New York City and raised in New Jersey. She attended The Butera School of Art in Boston. After moving to Evergreen, Colorado, in 1969, she taught painting in the Jeffco Adult Education program for several years. She gained 12 years of personnel experience while working for FBC Foods International in Denver. Her Cat Care Society career began in 1993, when she was hired on a part-time basis to manage a growing volunteer staff and assist with fundraising events. Working part time allows her to divide her time between the shelter and her studio where she works in acrylics, mixed media and paper mache sculpture. She also enjoys spending time with the three feline members of the family: Sanjay, Alice and Leo, all former shelter residents. Personal affiliations include Lakewood Arts Council, Denver Art Museum, Denver Zoo, The Nature Conservancy, Audubon Society of Colorado and Friends of The Great Swamp, N.J.
