Pamela Compton has always lived an artist's life, dancing to the beat of a different drummer. She paints what she feels, not what she sees, resulting in big, bold paintings filled with emotion, often flowing off the canvas. It's a whole body approach. She uses brushes and razorblades, fingers, palette knifes, anything to get closer to the canvas and create more texture. The title of this mask is "Seeing Eye to Eye." Pam painted the mask after reading about the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict. Notice when you look at the mask that the image shifts from two faces facing off to one face looking forward.
