Special Instructions
"Sun Face"
This "Sun Face" mask was created by draping a slab of damp clay over the slip cast mask provided for the artists and pressing textures into a slab of clay. It was fired in a pit in the ground (pit-fired) with organic materials, which, when they burned, gave off fumes that colored the clay.
