Description
Christine Fontenot has always loved bright colors. Her artistic gift was discovered and encouraged by her parents at an early age. She began taking private art lessons with local artist Sally Bartalot at the age of seven, when she was introduced to the "basics" of design and composition, drawing and painting from life, which became the foundation for her lifelong love of art. Having a thirst for artistic knowledge and a passion for color, she studied with Bartalot for eleven years. In 2004, she came to the Art Students League of Denver, where she has continued her artistic development.

"Rosie"
This mask celebrates the depth of colors found in one pink rose. I find that roses growing in nature are as different as people's faces, once you really look at them. The inner petals almost forming an eye drew me to "Rosie," just one among many lovely roses in the gardens at Denver's City Park. I hope "Rosie" reminds us to stop and smell the roses once in a while--and appreciate their colors!
