Description

Allow me to introduce myself.  My name is Carlos Roa.  I am a graduate of Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio, and hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.  I was born in Bogota, Columbia, and raised in the states.  My artistic form is influenced by my native roots and inspired by other cultures.  I like to take colors, designs and dream influences and apply them to my work in an effort to visually express things in a diversified way. For the past four years I have been the owner/operator of Roa Studios LLC.  Roa Studios consist of the Roa apparel line, freelance fine arts, graphic arts, live paintings, and planning of art shows and events.

Special Instructions

The mask was painted with Eastern Indian, Hindu, Tibetan mixture of influences.  The mask itself is simple:  it is a tribal/native design that symbolizes protection via the use of the third eye, known to have the power to ward off evil.  The third eye is also the symbol of awareness and enlightenment.  The colors are bright and alluring; they capture the viewer's eye and imagination.  It is an old idea with a modern twist!
