Description
Diane Aspinwall says, "Since I was very young, I have always received intense pleasure from the visual…colors, lines, architecture, nature and detail. I come from a family of artists and some years ago, I awakened from a dream in which I was painting an epiphany…It was time for me to start creating. I rushed to get dressed then drove to an art supply store to purchase the basics, went home and dove in. Prior to that day, I never imagined that my love of color, and my view of the world, would transfer to canvas. I am a self-taught freelance artist and work out of my home studio in the unique Lowry neighborhood of Denver; which allows me to work whenever, and for as long, as I wish. Because of the freedom of freelancing, my creative life is unlimited and personal! I see the world in bright, happy colors, even if they do not exist in reality. I would love to share that view with you!"
"Angelwing"
As a child, I spent hours and hours looking at, holding and marveling at insects. I loved, and still do, the macro viewpoint in nature. This painting, "Angelwing," is from my "Taking Flight 2013" exhibit at Kanon Collective Art Gallery in the Denver Art District on Santa Fe and features one of my favorite subjects: butterflies. "Angelwing" is an acrylic on stretched canvas painting that displays my expressionist style, my love of colors and conveys my emotional perception of the subject.
