Gail Firmin volunteers for the DDRC (Development Disability Resource Center) mentoring students in the Art & Soul program, teaches art classes for the City of Lakewood, and is active in Community Outreach and Public Relations for both the Lakewood Arts Council and Ken Caryl Art Guild. "The Gift of Time"
This mask was inspired by a quote from Kahlil Gibran: "You give a little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give." This sentiment was particularly relevant to me in the past months when I spent many hours at my aging mother's bedside in the hospital and rehabilitation. Our time on this earth is limited and we should do the most good we can in those years left to us.
