Rebecca Fischer is a fairly new artist.  Her life has had a few turns.   She is not only a fairly new artist, but is a cancer survivor.  Four years ago, at age 50, she lost her job with the phone company and was not sure in which direction her life should go...what she wanted to do or what job opportunities might lie ahead, if any. Rebecca says:  " After surviving cancer many years ago at the age of 29, I have a whimsical side to my personality which I never expressed through art until the age 50.  I began drawing animals in a whimsical, colorful style (please see my work at www.beccavision.com) and after giving the art as gifts to family and friends, decided I would take a stab at a home-based art business of creating pet portraits.  The last 4 years I have created dozens of pet portraits and absolutely love it!  Sometimes I feel as if a Genie came to me and granted my wishes, to be healthy and to express my love of life through art, as well as making a living doing what I love.  I wish that others who are overcoming obstacles in their life are as fortunate as I am and get their own Genie to make their wishes comes true.  This is why the "Genie" mask came to me when I was asked to contribute in the Mask Project."
