Description
Kim Kelley says, "The American West and the influence of the desert with the unique colors only found in the West are driving forces in my art. I have won national juried exhibitions for my pen and ink work." Of the mask, Kim explains, "Greatly influenced by the Hopi and Navajo artists of Arizona, this mask symbolizes the circle of life. The rugged brown colors reflect the water below a river that widens into the ocean. The black represents the horizon, with the moon and sun meeting one another as one rises and the other sets. The owl, in the shape of a feather, is the messenger from our physical being to our spiritual being."
