Description

Laurie Abelman says, "After retiring from my Office Administration job of 25 years, I decided to start working on my bucket list.  Item number 1 – learn to paint.  I started taking classes at the Jewish Community Center about 3 years ago, and I fell in love with painting with acrylics.  I recently bought a townhome that has a casita, which I have made into my art studio.  I had always loved art  as a child (it was my favorite thing to do with my grandmother), but I had never painted.  In addition to painting, I just finished a term as President of the Sisterhood at Temple Emanuel. I love to read, knit, cook and spend time with friends and family."

Special Instructions

The mask you are seeing is of one of my favorite birds - the Quetzal Bird.  They are found mostly in Mexico and Guatemala.  Their tails normally hang down double their body size.  Their name actually means "large brilliant tail feather." I  find their coloring so beautiful that I have always been attracted to them.  I hope you see the beauty, as I have.
