Robert Louis "Bob" Beauprez (born September 22, 1948) is an American politician who is the Republican nominee for governor of Colorado in 2014. Beauprez was born in Lafayette, Colorado. He grew up on his family's dairy farm, which had been purchased by his grandparents, outside of Boulder, Colorado. He is the son of Marie (ne Stengel) and Joseph C. Beauprez. His paternal grandparents had emigrated from Belgium to Colorado and raised draft horses on the family's land. His mother's family was of German descent. His parents raised both Hereford and dairy cattle on the farm. Beauprez often cites his father's example as a major influence on his life. He was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives, representing the 7th Congressional District of Colorado. He was the Republican nominee for governor of Colorado in 2006, endorsed by outgoing governor Bill Owens, but he lost to Democratic Party nominee Bill Ritter in the November 7 election, 56 percent to 41 percent. Beauprez is married with four children. Mask Artist: Mark Pasitka was born in 1969 and raised in the Phoenix, Az. Mark was influenced by the Herd Museum in Phoenix. Associations with friends from various Native American tribes helped grow his love for their culture and craft. He became interested in the art of the Kachina sculpture, and he continues to do hand carvings of Kachina sculptures. Mark moved to Colorado in 1989, where he obtained a bachelors degree in visual communications from the Art Institute of Colorado.
