About the Mask: Octavio Lucero is an 8th grader at Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy. He is in Ms. Cooper's advanced sculpture class and chose the challenge of creating this mask. He was a 6th grader at KCAA and then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, for 7th grade. For 8th grade he has come back to Colorado. He hopes to travel around the world one day and do many different things. He also wants to be a professional diver.
Special Instructions
My inspiration for this mask was a Venetian gold mask that I found by doing research. It has gold decorations and gold piping. I had to redo the paint and piping many times until it was just the way I wanted it to look. At first I wanted to make an African mask but I thought the Venetian style was more interesting. I enjoy how it looks classy and elegant.
