Talya Feldman, formerly of Denver, lives and works in New York. She graduated with a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (emphasis in painting and drawing). Her work often reflects issues of history, identity, and memory. Feldman's recent paintings have focused on the relationship between light and the body as it is wrapped in a Jewish ritual cloth called the tallit, and on the essence of light as color. This mask is an exploration of color as light, Talya says. It is a part of a larger body of works that begin toexperiment with the materiality of paint, line, and the influence of various hues and shades to create a form.
