Jan Wharton is a mosaic artist with an educational background in Wildlife Biology and Liberal Arts. Introduced to mosaics by a friend, Jan has since studied with master mosaic artists Kathy Thaden, Julie Richey and Matteo Randi. Jan says, Meet Zoltar, the Magnificent! Having enjoyed the idea of gypsies and fortune tellers most of my life, I realized that Zoltar deserved to be immortalized in mosaic form. I studied several pictures of Zoltar before choosing the colors and materials. His eyes are yellow and red to depict the intensity of his stare as he looks into your soul! The materials used to create Zoltar include vitreous glass, acrylic gems, chain beads, and glass beads.
