Description

Cartoonist Morrie Turner created the comic strip "Wee Pals" in 1965 to bring greater diversity to the funny pages. He has been very generous to Young D.C. and Cartoons & Cocktails over the years. We sometimes imagine that some of his "Wee Pals" have grown up to be the teens in Young D.C.'s newsroom.

In this "Wee Pals" original syndicated by Creators Syndicate Dec. 13, 2002, Diz tells George and Connie, "I've decided I'm going to give up drugs." But Connie responds, "You don't use drugs." To which Diz responds, "I know...but it's never to early to quit."

This ink on bristol cartoon strip original has an image area of 13" x 4" and the matting measures 17.375" x 8.625".

Morrie (born Dec. 11, 1923) was the first nationally syndicated African-American cartoonist.
