Artist Statement
I love the human form. I am especially interested in its movement through contemporary situations like airports and urban settings.

The surfaces of my paintings reflect my other love, that of the tactile. Textured and active, additive and subtractive, they reveal the history of each painting???s evolution.

As I add layers of paint, I embrace ambiguity in suggesting the representational and then exploring the boundary of what is actually conveyed. I search for a feeling or suggestion of reality as I balance the formal painting elements.

My paintings are often described as having a sense of movement. This is a reflection of how I view the world and experience, that everything is constantly changing, everything has a rhythm, all is in flux below the surface of our shared reality.
