Dorothy Schwartzberg is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB), has been practicing since 1980, and is a member of the American Massage Therapy Assn. since 1986
Infant Massage Instruction consists of two private infant massage lessons in your home with your baby, each session about 1 1/2 hours in length. You may include anyone providing care for the baby: parents, grandparents, partners, nanny, etc.
These lessons teach you how to effectively communicate using touch, baby's first language. You will learn infant massage strokes which will be of great benefit to your baby, and teach you more about your young child's world.
Infant massage helps baby to grow optimally, builds the immune system, and teaches baby how to relax and adjust to times of physical and emotional distress. It is excellent for relieving colic and symptoms of other illness.
The benefits of infant massage can have a positive effect throughout one's entire life.
Special Instructions
Babies having massage can be three weeks to 7-8 months old; they can be older, but if they’re crawling it is harder to learn on a moving baby.
Lessons include a book and massage oil. If there is a group, one person massages the baby and the other(s) practice with dolls. You also learn how massage strokes can be adapted to older children.
