PROFOUND HOUND-Print # 42 of #50

A knock-kneed Socrates, he's

got his Ph.D. in bassetese

and is, his students say,

a trinity of belly, brain

and a basket hound bray.

Democratic yet urbane,

he tells attention hounds,

with simplicity and grace

That if they look around

the truth they say they seek's

as plain as the nose on his face,

Dog to Dog, they drool

for dialogue, and he

adjusts his houundstooth

and says quite causually

that one truth never dies;

when he sees their yees

riveted upon him,

then he flaps his jowls and howls:

Cave Canem!
