Physical Therapists treat movement disorders with the goal of greater physical functioning in life. This means doing what you want to do! We are also trained to take a full medical history in order to spot medical "red flags" for further assessment, advocacy and referral.

Treatment is usually hands on, exercise prescription and self-management counseling. It can include deep tissue work but might focus on how to get out of a chair and walk easier, or why your knees can walk forever but your bike makes you cry. We also coach family in safe ways to guard, catch, assisted lift or roll disabled beloveds and do assessments of general physical imbalances to help people avoid both injuries and the common, preventable disabilities of aging.

Pati An ("Ahn") P.T. is hands on trained in Evjenth-Kaltenborn (OMT: joint palpation, mobilization, manipulation) and theoretically in Sahrmann (joint-muscles as dynamic pulley systems).  These biomechanical "schools" of physical therapy are based on orthopedic diagnosis including movement analysis.
