Description

Seymour Joseph Rosenthal was born and raised in the Bronx part of New York City in 1921 and was a child of the “Great Depression”. He was a self taught artist who started drawing at the age of 5 and didn’t stop until his dying year.

He had a great passion and respect for the struggles of working Americans as well as a deep love of his Jewish faith, both of which are amplified in his renderings. He is survived by his beloved wife Frances, a daughter, a son, and four grandchildren.

His works are in the permanent collection of various museums around the world such as the “N.Y. Metropolitan Museum of Art” and the “Technion Museum” in Haifa Israel.

This is a framed, signed and numbered (9/250) original work of art labelled "Am Yisroel Chai" - The People of Israel Lives, and Shall Live (Partial Color)

30 1/2" x 24 1/2" framed (includes mat). 24" x 18" (unframed portion). There is a raised seal of authentication (partially covered by the frame matting).
