Jo Demetra is passionate about creating beauty, empowering women and making jewelry available for individuals to enjoy. She has been a creative artisan, designing limited editions / one-of-a-kind jewelry, clothing and accessories for over 20 years. She brings a blend of experience and background in fashion and accessory design, manufacturing, and interior design for small spaces.
Jo empowers women through intuitive and supportive style reviews. She will guide you to create, own and feel confident wearing and living in their own unique style.
With her jewelry, Jo artfully designs uniquely-themed collections by incorporating metal beads, semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls that she has personally collected from her worldly travels. Her jewelry is bold, textural, exotic and sophisticated. Her collections reflects the inspirations that she has gained from different cultures that she had worked in and visited.
Jo's network of importers provide exquisite beads to her directly. With her beads being unique, she creates combinations that are unexpected and exceptional. Most pieces are limited editions or one-of-a-kind creations. She enjoys getting to know her clients and welcomes custom orders.
After attending Boston Museum School, she graduated from the School of Fashion Design in Boston. She then studied textiles at Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, MA.
Her work is being shown in galleries and has been in the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, MA; Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA; and the Isabelle Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston, MA. She has also designed and developed products for the Limited Group and Avon.
