These seven Dorothy Holby photos are of kittens, signed by the artist,  and are 8x10" ready for framing.


Dorothy Holby was born in Chicago in 1922, and grew up in Oak Park IL. She attended Baldwin Wallace University in Ohio. She taught Spanish at Northeastern Illinois college in Chicago until 1978. Growingup, her family always had cats. After retiring from teaching, she took several drawing and photography classes and exhibited many paintings and photographs at the Oakbrook Art show during the 1980's and 90's.


She began to sepcialize in photographing cats and produced thousands of images. She submitted her work and during the 1980's her photos were used in hundreds of calendars and numerous magazine covers. She was a regular contributor to Cat Fancy magazine.


In addition she was an author and published over fifty articles on cat behavior and photography. During this time, she and her husband Eric always had five or six cats in their home and they also fostered other cats until homes were found. 


She passed away at age 90 in 2012 with two cats by her side. She and her husband Eric established a foundation which helps fund animal welfare causes.
