Two Dorothy Holby signed photographs. Dorothy was born in Chicago in 1922 and grew up in Oak Park, IL. She attended Baldwin Wallace University in Ohio and taught spanish at Northeastern Ill. After retiring from teaching, she took several drawing and photography classes and exhibited many paintings and photographs at the Oakbrook Art show during the 1980's and 90's.

She specialized in photographing cats and produced thousands of images including every breed. She submitted her photography and was published in hundreds of calendars and numerous magazine covers in the 1980's. In addition, she was an author and published over fifty articles on cat behavior and cat photography. During this time, she and her husband Eric, always had five or six cats in their home and they also fostered cats until homes were found. 

She passed away at age 90 in 2012 with two cats by her side.

She and her husband Eric established a foundation with helps fund animal welfare causes.
