The University of Michigan has had 229 student and alums participate in the Olympic Games. Some of the most well known have signed this Michigan flag including the great Michael Phelps, the all-time medal record holder. Also on the flag are gold-medal winning ice dancers Charlie White and Meryl Davis, fellow US Olympic ice dancers Emily Samuelson and Evan Bates, Triathlete Andy Potts and swimmers Tom Malchow and Eric Wunderlich and multiple medal winner Peter Vanderkaay.
