That funny quote may be a play on words, but it does lend itself to me as a portrait photographer. Since I picked up my first camera at 17, I’ve always been focused on people as my subject matter. I am endlessly fascinated with the challenge of capturing the true person, their soul, in my works. When I say soul, that often has the connotation of serious. If you look at my work, you’ll see that I capture people in all expressions and facets.  I consider my work both personal and commercial, to be a visual experimentation as well as a psychological one, trying to make my subjects at ease and open up to me, whether they want to or not.
