Numerous studio and live performances with artists ranging from Bo Diddley to the Joffery Ballet, including eight inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. John Sebastian, Chico Hamilton, Carl Wilson, Robert Lamm, Mamas and the Papas, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Nora York, Bucktooth Johnson, Hope Nunnery, Steve Tarshis trio.

Author of over fifteen books including published by Music Sales Inc. and Hal Leonard. Titles include The Complete Rock Guitarist, Original Hendrix, Teach Yourself Lead Guitar, Teach Yourself Rock Theory

Instructor in Blues Guitar and Slide Guitar, Theory, Theory for Songwriters, and Blues History, Rhythm and Blues History at The New School. Director of the Blues Ensemble. These are courses that I have developed and have taught since this program was “The Guitar Study Center” and initiated by Paul and Eddie Simon in the late 70’s. The Guitar Study Center closed in 2007.

Lecturer and consultant on Blues and Rhythm and Blues subjects. (ABC News, UN Special Projects, Players Magazine etc.)

Private teacher for over twenty years. Students have included Harper Simon, Lisa Loeb, Conan O’Brian, Garland Jeffries, Paul Rudd, Stanley Crouch, and hundreds of others of all levels including beginners, hobbyists, serious avocationalists, and professionals.
