Description

Absolutely stunning and a must have for a collector of fine glass such as Steuben!

This is a gorgeous Steuben hand blown crystal ram's head candy dish. This elegant dish was originally designed by Irene Benton and released in 1943 by Steuben Glass of Corning, New York. Steuben designed and produced art glass from 1903 until its closing in 2011, and was world renowned for the artistic vision and expert craftsmanship of its highly skilled glass blowers.

This ram's head candy dish - design #7936 - was a popular piece for Steuben and remained in production for many years. The lid of the candy dish features an ornamental highly detailed ram's head finial surrounded by a ruff where the base of the animal's neck meets the lid. The base of the dish has simple lines which provide an interesting combination with the ornate design of the lid, giving the piece a very distinctive appearance.

Etched signed "Steuben" on the base.

The Bowl has a 2 1/4" in diameter opening, the base is 2" in diameter.  It stands 6 1/2" tall and weighs 1 1/2 lbs.
