Description

"Very cold weather for two weeks--lately the coldest known in Washington in many years...Snow a foot deep and good sleighing."  Diary Entry of President Rutherford B. Hayes.  This quote is the inspiration for this nostalgic depiction of a sleigh passing before the White House which honors the Hayes adminstration (1877-1881).  The oval ornament is 24 kt. gold finished brass with rich enamel color.  An eye-catching piece for your holiday tree!


These ornaments are created by the White House Historical Society and sold to fund the acquisition of historical furnishings and artwork for the permanent White House collection. 


Details:  New in original packaging.  Ornament is 2 3/4" wide and 3 1/4" high.
